Firewall confusion: Mac? Windows?

I would like to access the internet from either my G4 or VPC 7.02
without logging off Windows. At the moment I can only use the Firewall
on my G4 when VPC is shutdown and I've rebooted the Mac. Sys. Prefs
say that some other software is running a firewall so it can't run. A
check of Windows XP shows no firewall enabled. Is this something I
should be able to do: running the firewall for the mac and accessing
the internet thru VPC? and if so how?

Thanx for any suggestions.

There is no Safari in the VPC/Windows environment.

I think somethings wrong here. It shouldn't be this complicated.

It is not complicated, you're right.

You can have both firewalls running and you do not need to shut Windows
down in order to use the Internet on the Mac side.

modification which is why you cannot change it when VPC is running.

Personally I use Intego NetBarrier as my firewall and this is running 100%
of the time as is the Windows XP firewall when I have VPC running.

They don't interact with each other and work fine.
