VPC and Tiger ever make nice?

Basically, my only need for VPC is to test websites on IE, using the
same machine.

Using 10.3 and VPC 7.0.1, you can access a local build of a dynamic
site using the following address:

http://10.0.1.x/~user/directory/index.php

Where x is the number provided by the aiport, user is your username,
directory is the name of the directory created under "Sites", and
index.php is a sample php file, requiring Apple's apache.

As of this very moment, this system works flawlessly with Shared
Networking enabled. No problems whatsoever. I never had to tweak XP or
make any settings - it just worked out of the box with a clean install
of XP.

Upon upgrading to Tiger, the whole system crapped out.

So I was hoping that someone using Virtual PC for Mac 7.0.2 and Tiger,
using AirPort, and attempting to test a dynamic site locally on the
SAME machine, might be able to tell me if the "bugs" have ever been
worked out.

I have a bit of free time over the holidays and would like to try
upgrading to Tiger again. But I don't want to go through the whole
process, only to have to revert to the old system again.

Basically, I can't upgrade to Tiger because - if I do - I can no longer
tote around my laptop with my little Airport Express and test websites
on IE6 at will.

Thanks for any help - and for anyone wishing to try out this little
experiement -

It would be one machine, with Apple's Personal Web Server enabled,
running VPC with Shared Networking enabled, attempting to test a PHP
driven site locally.

VPC handles this chore wonderfully for me - as I can switch back and
forth between Firefox and VPC's IE7 until I work out all of the bugs
caused by IE. If I can't do that, then I still can't upgrade to Tiger.

Thanks VERY MUCH for any info/ideas/help.
