SQL Server 2005/Visual Studio 2005 in VPC 7.0

I have been trying to create a Windows XP Pro VPC that I can use the latest
versions of SQL Server and Visual Studio, but have not had any luck getting
the installs to complete successfully.

First I attempted to install SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition and it would
fail in the install when it was trying to start one of the services that is
required to install the other parts of SQL Server 2005. I tried and re-tried
this install and it failed in the same place each time.

So, then I gave up on that and decided to try and install Visual Studio 2005
which includes SQL Server 2005 Express. Again, same problem as it got to a
specific step in the SQL Server Express install it would fail and the whole
install would have to back out.

I have been able to install both of these products without any issues in VPC
for Windows. I have of course tried to copy the VPC for Windows files over to
VPC for Mac, but cannot get the VM running on the Mac (processor error
restart loop on bootup).

Anyone with any ideas on how to get this working would be great.

How do you change the ACPI settings in VPC for Mac? I don't see the BIOS
bootup sequence on that version like I do for VPC for Windows. I have tried
to disable the ACPI settings in the VM on VPC for Windows before I copy it
over, but that does not seem to make a difference. Is there a secret key that
needs to be pressed as the VM boots up on VPC for Mac to make those changes,
or is it something in the options that I am missing?

I have changed the registry setting as stated in that blog as well.

Thanks again Steve, last night I tried it and it all worked!

Just for those that may not know, instead of the Delete key on the
Powerbook, you need to use the Fn + . keys to get into the BIOS on bootup.
