Re-installing VPC 7 upgrade version

Dear members:

I am re-installing all my different applications after installing a new
larger internal hard disk.

The only problem I am having so far is how to best approach the
re-installation of Virtual PC. I remember that when I upgraded from version
6 to version 7 the upgrade was everything but simple.

I own a full copy of Virtual PC version 6.0 that includes Windows XP Pro and
Virtual PC version 7.0 upgrade without any operating system.

How can I install Virtual PC in the simplest possible manner ? In case the
information is helpful I am running a Powermac G5 dual 2.0 GHz 2.5 GB RAM.
My understanding is that the G5 processor doesn't support VPC 6. In this
case how can I install version 7 if I only have it in the upgrade package ?
Also, how can I install Windows XP contained in the disks for VPC 6 on my
installation of VPC 7 ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Joseph Chamberlain.
