Hi all.

I have an i-mac G-5 running Tiger and Virtual PC 7 XP pro. I am trying
to connect a biofeedback device called the SCIO with a keyspan serial
to USB adapter. The i-mac recognizes Keyspan the Keyspan and the VP
shows it at comp 1. It originally tried to create a comp 3 so we
disabled comp 3. It's getting hung when I try to load the program that
goes with the SCIO at 22%. I know this is possible because I followed
the exact specifications of another person who was successful. I have
tryed Mac Support, Keyspan support and VP support.

Any suggestions?

There's two ways to do this, but from your description it sounds like
you are using option #2:

#1 - Install the adapter drivers on the Mac, set COM1(or 2) in VPC's PC
settings to said adapter. In windows, install software for the device
you are attaching to the adapter as per instructions. Point the device
at the same com port you pointed the adapter at. It *may* work.

#2 - Attach the adapter as a USB device and install the drivers in
Windows. If you do this, the adapter will ONLY be seen as COM3 or
higher, as COM1 & 2 are reserved by the emulated COM ports. Disabling
COM3 just means you can't use the adapter.
