music label 2006Source: microsoft.public.mac.virtualpc Sent: 11/08/2005 From: (email address - cut out) Message:I have a G4 laptop running OSX tiger and have virtual pc 7.0.2
installed, running windows xp. I've tried to install Music Label 2006
(www.codeaero.com) several times now. The install seems to work without
any problems, but when I trie to start the application, windows
immediatley gives me an error saying that music label 2006.exe has
unexpectedly stopped and all info that I was working on is lost. (so it
isn't even able to start the application). So several times i've pushed
the send this error report, but nothing from microsoft i guess?
So, is there anybody out there running music label 2006 succesfully on
windows xp/virtual pc 7? It is actually the only reason I installed
VPC7, ... so that really sucks. Hope I'm just doing something wrong,
i'm not yet willing to pay microsoft another =8050,-+, for something
that in the end there probably doing wrong.

No, its most likely the code in your app that is doing something wrong, or
its self-modifying code to prevent theft.
Try disabling MMX via the troubleshooting scripts and then run your program.
If it works, then its music label 2006, not VPC.

I've tried disabeling MMX, but thats not working. (was i supposed to
reinstall music label?) Thnx anyway, i've tried support from music
label and there comment was that they don't know about VPC and mac. If
you or anybody else has any suggestions please don't keep it to your
self.
cheers Marius

Sent: 11/09/2005 From: "Unseelie" <(email address - cut out)> Message:Okay, two possibilites.
1) Run the "Toggle Compatibility Mode" script in the VPC troubleshoot
scripts. It's possible that this program makes use of "Self-Modifying
Code". If so, this script will allow it to work, albeit, by slowing the
VM down. Luckily, you can turn it on and off whenever you need it. So,
if this works, disable it at launch, and then reenable it when you're
done.
2) MMX - I doubt this would have any effect, but you can try disabling
MMX from the VPC troubleshooting scripts. Personally, I wouldn't bother
with this unless you're getting general sound distortion, or black
boxes around icons and other corrupted graphics. Even if you are, I'd
recommend updating to Mac OS X 10.4.3 first.
As for the software, I've never even heard of it so I'm going to guess
that you'd be lucky to find another user that's tried it.

thnx for the input though, Marius
