VPC 7.0.2, Lotus Notes 6.5 and Cisco VPN Client 4.6.04.0043

I have VPC 7.0.2 with Lotus Notes 6.5 and the Cisco VPN Client
4.6.04.0043 installed to try and access the secure server at work. The
Cisco VPN client dials in and connects just fine when VPC is set to
Shared Networking and does not work at all when it is set to Virtual
Switch. However, even when the VPN connection is up, Lotus Notes
cannot find the Notes server. Tech says that if I am in on the secure
VPN server (and the software says that I am connected), then Lotus
Notes should work as if on the local network. The curious thing is
that, although "connected" I cannot ping anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
