Computer restarts when starting virtual machine

Hi all,

I installed Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 on my computer and created an
empty virtual machine with an empty virtual hard disk. I'm not sure
what I did next - I played with the settings to try and boot from the
floppy or something like that. The bottom line is that currenly
whenever I start a virtual machine the whole computer restarts.
I uninstalled Virtual PC and its virtual machines performed a registry
clean and reinstalled the virtual pc, but still no luck...
Does someone know how to resolve it?

It's probably causing a crash of the host OS when you start a VM, make sure
you have the latest network card drivers and the video card drivers installed.

Another thing to try is to run a memory checker to make sure your RAM is okay.

kind of operating system in the virtual machines you create...
But if not:
You are supposed to supply an installation media (either an
installation CD or the ISO file equivalent of this) for the chosen
operating system. If it is Windows then you need a full version, not
an upgrade or an OEM because you need a license for this machine just
like you would for a physical PC...

Then you boot the virtual machine off of this CD and run the operating
system installation in the normal way.
