FreeBSD 7.2 i386 under VPC 7

Message:

Hello All --

I am running Windows 7 RC 1 (release 7100) and have been running the
XP virtual machine that came with it successfully, along with creating
several other Linux VMs for Ubuntu, etc.

I want to run FreeBSD in a VM under Virtual PC, and downloaded the
torrents for it. I've configured the 7.2-RELEASE-i386-dvd1.iso image
to be the boot disc in VPC.

When FreeBSD boots in the VM, it hangs at the following error message
and never goes anywhere (I've left it for a few hours just to see if
anything happens):

md0: Preloaded image </boot/mfsroot> 4423680 bytes at 0xc0dfab28
GEOM_LABEL: Label for provider md0 is ufsid/49fab23737484d9.

I know from reading other posts in this newsgroup that I could use
Sun's Virtualbox, but installing VM software tends to put a lot of
extra device-driver level and registry-related stuff on the system
that an uninstall never really gets rid of. I also rely on VPC in XP
mode to run some legacy apps (e.g. Oracle JInitiator) that are not
supported on Windows 7.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Josh
