Installing modems in Virtual PC

Message:

Hello,
Anyone master the art of installing modems inside the guest in VPC?
A year ago I had a couple of modems installed and what is most important
working in guest VPC:
one guest was WindowsXP and another guest was Win Vista.
Now, I have a different computer and the different PCI modems.
None of them can be installed in VPC guests, but they work fine in the host.
Is there any trick forcing the guest's Windows to recognize the original
driver or at least using the generic driver?
Right now the original driver is not recognized during modem's installation.
Using generic Windows driver such as "Standard 56000 bps modem" the
installation is successful and the modem passes diagnostic querry. However
when it come time to use it the message "Resources unavailable" pops up.
Please advise,
Fred
