If you do then you should close all virtual machine completely first
(no saved states anywhere). The reason is that the saved state file
often is not compatible between VPC versions. The VHD file itself is
so once the machine is shut down you are OK.
Afterwards you should reinstall the Virtual Machine additions too (in
each guest of course).
