dear users,

I have to connect my workstation to the server (both on virtual PC)
But whatever i do it wont find the server.

the details of the server:
IP: 192.168.5.10
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.5.1
DNS: 127.0.0.1
FQDN: server.pvb1.local

the details i have on my pc:
IP: 192.168.5.12
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.5.1
DNS: 127.0.0.1

I tried to change my domain to: server.pvb1
but it says it can't find the domain.

What could i do to make this work?

On both the server and the client, change the DNS address to
192.168.5.10 . 127.0.0.1 is a loopback address.

To check that DNS is working, use the following command from a command
prompt on the client.

nslookup server.pvb1.local

If this returns 192.168.5.10 dns is working.
