VPC2007 host (XP SP3 Home) running win311 WFWG guest.

I have a very happy guest running VM additions, internet access etc. I
have enabled the sound driver "Creative labs Soundblaster 1.0" as per
VPC guy instructions but each sound played is truncated after the first
second of playing. Even when I go into Control Panel/sounds and test a
sound the same thing happens.
Any ideas?
