Selecting the virtual pc window stops the virtual OS

When I have a virtual pc running. If I select the window that represents the
VPC (to drag it or whatever) Every virtual machine that I have running
"stops" or pauses until I deselect the window.

This really messes with the virtual OS's clock but temporarily stops all
programs running in the virtual machines.

I am running VPC 2007 with the QNX4 OS on a dual core XP pro box.

Both Virtual machines run just fine except when I select on of the windows
for example:

I start two virtual machines.
Both machines are running just fine.
If I select (and hold the mouse button down) on one of the virtual windows,
both virtual machines completely pause until I release the mouse button.
They pause in such a way that the virtual computer and OS don't even know
that they were paused. IE: If I hold the mouse button for 10 seconds (while
repositioning the window for example) the computer's clock is 10 seconds off
and any programs that were running resume as if nothing happened.

Is this only happening to my virtual machines because I am using an
"unapproved OS", without virtual machine additions installed, or does this
happen to others as well?

That's a setting on the Virtual PC 2007 console Performance tab.

Just open the VPC console, the File menu -> Options -> Performance

You probably want either of the top two options depending on how you
work. Probably the 3rd option is what is set for it to pause the
other VM's.

It must be blocking VPC over all the VM's. If you didn't hold the
button down, it wouldn't block.

I just did a test of that scenario and it definitely blocks VPC
itself. No way around it other than to not hold the mouse button
down.
