lpt is not working with virtual machine

i have a problem using the the LPT1 (378-37f) with the virtual machine.
the port is working properly.
i have a nethasp plug and the host can communicate with but any virual
machine can't (although i assigned the lpt to this virual machine).
i also tried to stop the spooler but it still not working.
please help

i'm sorry . it is not vrtual machine but virtualPC (is it the same).
i searched (visualy) for any thing that communicate with the nethasp in the
host but i found nothing.
is there any software that could find that ?
i'll try to install new host today without any other software and then
intall virualpc and find out if this is the problem.

so steve , your assumption that some software hold the nethasp plug nust be
