USB connected via network?

Source: microsoft.public.virtualpc

Message:

I have seen mentioned here at several times a product that can extend
USB via the Ethernet network to a much longer distance than is
ordinarily allowed. One idea was also that maybe such a product could
make USB devices available inside a VPC2007 guest by bypassing the USB
non-availability in a VPC guest.

I am interested in links to such products if they actually do exist. I
tried to google USB and ethernet but all I get is those network
adapters that connect to the PC via USB and has Ethernet on the other
side.
What I am after is a gadget that allows me to put the USB connectors
at a distance on the network and still have the device available in my
PC.

Any advice welcome.
