Copy vhd to usb hard drive

Hello,

I am trying to back up my vhd, vmc and vud files to an external hard drive.
I am able to copy all files except vhd.
My backup usb drive is 500GB with 400GB empty space. The vhd that I want to
back up is 17GB.

When I right click and click "Send To" external usb drive, I get following
message.

The File 'Win2K3.vhd' has extra informtion attached to it that might be lost
if you continue copying. The contents of the file will not be affected.
Information that might be lost includes:
Document Summary Info.
Do you want to proceed anyway? Yes No
-----------------------------------------
If I press Yes, next message box tells me that there is not enough free
disk space and gives me option for Disk Cleanup.

How do I backup vhd files?

If the external drive is formatted FAT32 then you are hitting the 4GB file
size limit of FAT32. Also, the "extra information" being stripped off
suggests a move from NTFS to FAT32 since that has to happen in such a move.
A move from NTFS to NTFS would not result in that message. It sounds like
you will need to convert the drive to NTFS before you can copy your file.
You can convert without losing the files already stored there.
