I have constructed a virtual network that consists of multiple servers with a

location and includes one for DNS and one for DHCP. All IP addresses on this
virtual network reflect the same addresses as the real network. It is
currently being used to test software configurations. However, it has no
access to the outside world, i.e. no Internet access. I would like to add
that capability but, based on my readings and understanding of NAT and
Loopback Adapters, don't see how without altering the IP addresses being used
within the virtual network. Any suggestions out there?

Some further clarification. The IP addresses used in this network are of the
172.x.x.x variety and they must remain so. My thought process is to insulate
the internal network from the external world but still permit the
workstations access to the Internet by setting up a separate virtual server
that has 2 nics (loopback adapters?), one for internal use and the other for
external access and using RRAS.

You don't need to change any of the addresses to give the virtual
machines Internet access through a NAT router. Translating private addresses
is what NAT does.

You would only need to use a loopback adapter if you wanted to use the
host machine as a router. If you plan to use a vm as the router you do not
need one. All you need is a vm with two NICs to act as the NAT router. One
NIC is linked to the virtual network (Local Only in VPC) and one to the
physical network ( through the NIC in the host).

If all of the vms are in the same IP subnet, you set them all to use the
RRAS router as their default gateway. Then you configure RRAS as a NAT
router. All internet traffic uses the "public" IP of the RRAS router.

My setup looks like this.
