Since VPC2007 does not support USB in the guest I'd assume that I'd need to
use VMWare which now does support USB. Or is there a way I can have the ISO
image on the disk and install from there?

So long as your optical drive is connected to your host, VPC will see it and
emulate it as a standard CD-R...

Wireless what? A wireless keyboard or mouse will be seen as a standard
102 key keyboard and PS2 mouse. A wireless network card will probably be
seen as DEC/Intel 21140A NIC. These are the emulated devices in the vm.
