.. Before to install the new version it is reccomended to shut down
your virtual machines because "saved states are not compatible between
Virtual PC" versions, backup ur files to be more safe, uninstall
Virtual PC 2004 and go with the installation process of 2007.

to shut down your existent virtual machines

VPC but I'm sure I've read that they just open up and work.

I had one or two vm's that I had made using the original VPC 2004 that did
not work right but one's made with VPC 2004 SP1 all did. Creating a new vm
and using the old .vhd file resolved even that.
