I have installed VPC 2007 on my machine. It has a Negear WG111 that
connects to the internet. I want to connect also the Windows XP
Professional PC machine. I have tried "shared" and WG111 network
sonnections ubder Settings. Nothing sees the card so I can go wirelss.

Are there any instrcutions to get the wirelss card to work?

I had a similar problem. I finally fixed it in the VPC console by clicking
on Edit, then settings, then networking. In my case, there were two network
adapters selectable, and the VPC had upon installation chosen the wired
Ethernet adapter, which is what my laptop formerly used. All I had to do was
select the Intel PRO/wireless 3945 (in my case) adapter and I then had
internet access.

To follow up on Steve's remarks, it doesn't really tell us much to tell us
that your tried a couple of methods but it didn't work. Let's look at what
should happen.

If you see the option to use the WG111 in the VPC, it should just work,
as Steve said. The vm should look like an additional machine on the wireless
network and get its network config in exactly the same way as the host does.
Does this happen? If you do an ipconfig do you see an IP address, netmask,
default gateway and DNS setting similar to the hosts? Can you ping the
gateway address? If you get an APIPA address (169.254.x.y) the vm cannot
see the DHCP server on the wireless LAN.

The Shared Networking (NAT) option works in a completely different way.
The vm would then get its network config from the host machine and share the
host's Internet connection in much the same way as ICS works. You should be
able to access the Internet but not the host machine. Again, ipconfig should
show you what has happened.

If neither of these methods will work, your wireless adapter driver is
probably incompatible with Virtual Machine Network Services. All is not
lost. You can install a Microsoft Loopback Adapter in the host machine (see
Help in VPC or the host machine) and use that to network to the vm. You
would enable ICS on the host, selecting the WG111 as the connection to be
shared and the loopback adapter as the private interface. You then put the
NIC of the vm in the loopback adapter network and start it up. It will get
its network config from ICS and share the host's Internet connection.

Microsoft does have an uninstaller. You use Add/Remove Programs and look
for "Microsoft Virtual PC" (it is not in the "Windows listings").
