Host CDROM issue after installing Virtual PC 2007

I have a Dell Latitude D820 that came with Vista Business 32 bit pre-installed.
Has a CDROM/DVD burner.
After installing Virtual PC 2007 I can no longer open CDROMs from Vista - it
always says they are blank and need formatting.
But, from within my XP SP2 Guest OS I can read the CDROMS no problem.

Even if I close down VPC 2007 I still have the problem in the Vista host.

Any ideas?
