Hello world!

I am unable to install VPC 2007 on WinXP pro.
When I click on setup.exe, I get an Error :

Unable to start application, config is incorrect. To solve, reinstall
application.

(German original: setup.exe Diese Anwendung konnte nicht gesartet werden,
weil die Ausgangskonfiguration nicht korrekt ist. Zur Problembehandlung
sollten Sie die Anwendung neu installieren.)

But befor I re-install, I want to install it.
Already repeated the download, but same prob.

VPC2004 works, but not good enough with DX7 apps. Graphics are horrible @
4MB VRAM with additions installed.

Does VPCÂ´07 fix this?

No, VPC 2007 has the same video capabilities as VPC2004.

For more than 4M of video RAM -- If you are installing Linux, use the
VESA driver instead of the S3 driver, it allows 8M of video RAM, and
if you're installing Windows, install the additions, they also allow
8M of video RAM.

Interesting, it does look like Win98 only reports 4M of video RAM. I
wonder if this changed in VPC2007. (I'll have to install it on
somewhere to see.)

I don't think using the VESA driver in Windows is an option.

I just tested Win98 on VPC 2004 SP1 and it too only sees 4M of video
RAM. I guess Win98 was and is an exception to the 8M video RAM rule.
