Hello,
I have got VPC 2007 on my host Laptop (Windows Vista Ultimate)
At work I have a network connection and the Virtual PCs (various Operating
Systems) all work normally and can all see the network drives.
When I work at home, I use a wireless network adaptor and VPN into the
office, so my host PC (and Host PC apps) will work.
However, my Virtual PCs cannot see the internet, nor can they see my network
drives, which renders them useless for network Visual Studio projects.
I need to establish whether to VPN in at the Virtual PC level, or remain
with the VPN at host level.
Then I need to know how to connect the virtual PC to the company network and
see all the relevent drives, without affecting the network connections that
work when I'm at work with the network cable plugged in.
Can anyone help?

It sounds like you have the same configuration that I have using VPC on Vista
Ultimate and also have it wired to my work network, and wireless at home.

For each VM there are settings you can adjust. Right click on the VM and
select settings. I found that I need to change the network setting in this
dialog box to my wireless card when at home and my wired NIC when I'm at
work. It is a quick switch, but it has to be changed each location change I
make.

Well thank you both for your suggestions and I have found the solution
myself, which was most like Bo's.
So, here goes:
On the Host (Vista Ultimate)
I installed a Microsoft Loopback adaptor
I made the Wireless Network Adaptor sharable (with the Loopback Adaptor -
local Area Connection 2 - being named as the "Home networking connection".
I then went into the settings on Virtual PC and chose to have three Network
Connections, in the Settings Screen for the chosen Virtual PC:
Adaptor 1) The original Wired Network Connector
Adaptor 2) The Wireless Connector
Adaptor 3) The Microsoft Loopback Adaptor

On the Router:
I have to change it's IP address away from 192.168.0.1 as this clashed with
the Loopback Adaptor's hardcoded settings.
I had to change the DHCP addressing range to be 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.255
(instead of 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.255)
I rebooted the router and PC, to ensure that the new IP addresses were set up.

On the Guest PC (Windows XP in this case):
I made sure that the new Network Adaptors were visible on the Guest PC.
Local Area Connection - Original Network Card (unplugged)
Local Area Connection 2 - the Wireless Connector
Local Area Connection 3 - the Loopback Adaptor

I created a VPN Connection to the Company Server.

I used Internet Explorer to ensure I could see the outside world.
This was attached to the Wireless Network Connection 2 on the Host PC
I activated and connected into the VPN and all my network drives were now
available to my Virtual PC at home. It worked!!!!
I can now work from home on any Virtual PC configuration and have full
access to my network drives. But note, I had set up the loopback adaptor and
do all the Guest PC work on every Virtual PC I needed network access for.

Many thanks for your suggestion and I hope this helps anyone else out there.
