Windows Vista Premium as VM host?

Microsoft states that only the ultimate, business, or enterprise versions
support VPC 2007. However, I have seen reports that state that if you
install VPC on a Vista premium (for example), and ignore the pop-up box that
says your configuration is not supported, that it will run correctly anyway.

I have installed VPC 2007 on a Vista premium home computer. Before I go out
and buy Windows XP (home edition), I would like to know if what I heard about
it working in this case is correct. Anybody out there know FOR SURE that
this will work ( i.e. you've done it on your PC)? Thanks in advance

Amazingly, XP is MUCH faster virtually than Vista Home Premium! Programs
load almost instantly and the internet is much quicker.

Yes.

Just don't try it with restore disks or the kind of OEM disk that comes with
a new computer. Those are usually tied to specific hardware and will not
install on the emulated hardware used in virtual machines.
