I'm installing XP SP2 on a new virtual PC under Vista Business. All for
files copied and the XP setup gets to the "Preparing Installation" phase.
Setup terminates prematurely with a dialog window titled "Isass.exe - System
Error" and the message "An invalid parameter was passed to a service or
function." The Virtual PC reboots and setup gets to the same point again
with the same error.

Any ideas?

Correction - it isn't an isass.exe error it is an lsass.exe error.

I was attempting to repair an earlier incomplete install of XP under VPC
when I got the error. I cancelled out of the repair routine. Then I tried a
fresh install of XP under VPC and it worked flawlessly.
