Time in Virtual PC 2007 vs HOST

I need the time in my Virtual PC to be different than the host for
testing. When I change the time, it resets back to that of the host.
I thought I read if I uninstall the vmware additions, it will work,
but have not confirmed. I also thought the additions provided
significant speed increases.

Is there a registry location I can hit to keep the times different?

keep in mind that every time you boot the VM, it will sync to the host
time, though.
