Drive A: access from guest and

My PC is a WinXP P4. I have VPC 2007 RC and machine additions installed. The
VPC guest OS is Win98se. The VPC setting for Floppy disk is auto detect,
drive A: is accessible from the host and "my computer "can read a disk in the
drive.

The guest is then set to "control floppy drive" and I then attempt to open
Drive A: with the guest "my computer", the disk drive runs (light on) but the
disk can not be accessed. When I physically eject the disk, the guest crashes
to dos and asks for the disk and to "ENTER for OK or ESC to Cancel". ENTER
return to desktop in its previous state and ESC shuts down "my computer" and
returns to the desktop.

Why can't I read Drive A: from the guest?

Did you try to manually capture the floppy drive? Also, make sure that the
floppy drive is not open in Windows Explorer; has it may lock the drive.

If you only want to read on this floppy drive, then you could use RawWrite
( http://www.chrysocome.net/rawwrite ) to create images of your floppy disks
and use them with VPC.
