VPC 2004 SP1 with XP SP2

We recently upgraded our systems to XP SP2 and when we tried to install VPC
2004 it worked fine, but after installing SP1 everything dissapears (folder &
shortcuts). Event log shows "Product: Microsoft Virtual PC 2004 Service Pack
1 -- Installation failed." and nothing else.

Could it be that VPC SP1 can't be installed on XP SP2?

It can.

You best bet is to find out why the install is failing -- are you getting
any kind of message? (other then the event log)
