Boot Agent Loading After Installing Virtual PC 2007

I had Vista running under Virtual PC 2004. However, when I replaced Virtual
PC 2004 with Virtual PC 2007, when I try to load the Virtual Vista I get
Argon Boot Agent trying to load. It's looking for a DHCP server and will not
boot. How do I disable that boot agent? It wasn't popping up under Virtual
PC 2004.

I'm having the same issue. I know it's a problem with the VM, but I'd like to
disable the PXE boot feature nonetheless and in the VM BIOS it looks like
there is no option - you can only raise or lower the PXE boot priority.

Any ideas?

Why would you need to disable PXE boot? What problems does it cause?

PXE boot is there to allow you to boot from a network share and install
an OS. If you have the install media in the CD drive or as an ISO file on
the host it will use that instead of searching the network.

You didn't see PXE in VPC2004 because it wasn't there. It is new to VPC
2007 (although it was in Virtual Server).

this is how to fix the problem.

I loaded the virtual 2007 pc, and it kept trying to boot off the nic. I got the dhcp, with the floating astrik, etc. We get this at work all the time. The system is trying to boot off the nic card. My fix? Start up virtual pc, I hit my delete key (what ever key to get into your bios) and I removed the pxe nic card option. I made sure the bios was to boot of the cd rom first. Selected my virtual harddisk and installed 2003 server on that partition.

If you keep in mine that it is just like what you would do setting up a new machine. If your machine was booting of the nic, you would change the boot order, etc. It is no different than setting up a virtual machine.
