Wireless Networking with an Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Adapter...

Hello, I have a new HP DV6000 laptop that has the above card installed in
it. It also has a Intel Pro/1000PL wired network connection that I use while
I am at work. I am running VPC 2004 SP1 with all hot fixes that I know about
installed. While I am at work, my virtual pcs run perfectly when I am
connected through the Pro/1000 PL adapter. However, when I am at home, I can
not get the wireless adapter to work.

I have it set to adapter #2 for my sessions so I can use it while not in the
office, while adapter #1 resolves in the office. When I am at home, adapter
#2 can not find my router. It constantly gets a 169.x.x.x address which is
pretty much useless. I have scoured any newsgroups and sites that I can find
to address the problem, and have tried everything that I have found, but
nothing works!

The even more frustrating part is the previous laptop I gave up for the new
one worked flawlessly for well over a year utilizing the wireless adapter
that was in it.

To get around the problem, I set adapter #1 to Shared Networking (NAT),
which allows me to get a valid address and connect to my other resources
while at home. While this is acceptable in the short term, it is not a
viable longterm solution for various reasons.

Any direction that someone could point me into would be appreciated.
