no one uses it and there are absolutely no peripherals that
support USB. So why would anyone have the insane notion
that something as obsolete and useless as USB be supported
in VPC?

Message:USB support is the most frequently requested new feature so I don't know how
you have determined that it is unneccessary or that no peripherals support
it. It simply isn't available in VPC and no announcement has been made for
its addition. No one uses it because it isn't there.

No.
Yes, for the foreseeable future...

Message:Thanks for the info.
I still have to use dial-up and I have a USR 5633 USB modem - works in XP;
works in Vista: obviously doesn't work in Virtual PC.
BTW, Theo, I have this "insane notion" because I am, well, INSANE.

You know, Colin, there's every possibility that Thor's post might have

So far, I don't know how to copy data between host and guest operating XP system. Could anyone tell me?

Message:
tyo get items off your usb into a virtual pc
1. plug the usb into the host
2. start the Virtual Machine you want to use
(make sure your virtual machine is running in a window and not full screen)
3. drag the items from the usb drive into the guest os windows
This will copy the item to the desk top then you can move it around inside the VPC
