Message:Are you installing from a real DVD?
If so, there is a bug in the boot routines for VPC 2007 and real DVD's.
What kind of DVD drive do you have? (DVD RW of some kind I bet?)
Anyway, you can install from a .iso file or from another type DVD drive.

Message:I suppose you have considered installing from this DVD
onto another PC? Maybe it's something wrong that is
not within the "typical" range of possible reasons for
what you experience. Dumb question probably, but the
iso-file itself is definitely ok (checksum for example)?
