Can"t Install Guest From CD

I'm new to Virtual PC, so perhaps somebody can help me. My host OS is
WinXP and I am trying to set up Win2k as the guest OS. I'm using
Virtual PC 2004. I've created the Win2k environment. When I start a
session to do the install, Virtual PC doesn't recognize my CDROM. I get
the message "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert media in
selected boot device". What can I do to fix this?

When I look at the settings, it tells me the CD/DVD Drive is assigned to
the secondary IDE controller. Problem is I have a Serial ATA machine
and it only comes with one IDE controller. When I click on Actions --->
Settings, the "Attach CD or DVD Drive to secondary IDE controller" is
protected, and it is checked. Can someone help?

You can't change those settings if the VM is running or in a saved
state.

Have you verified that the cd-rom is really bootable?
