Both of my VPC machines (win2000 Server and win2003) used to be able to see
the network, but all of a sudden they cannot. The only change is that my
host OS has switched over from static IP to DHCP (it's on a company
network).

Is it possible that this is why my virtual machine can't see the network?
Either way, what can I do to troubleshoot this?

I think I had NAT, although it's been several months since I set it up, so I
could be wrong. What's preferable?

And the guest OS was set up to static at the time. I've changed it in the
process of trying to fix this, but it hasn't worked.

In the Virtual PC settings, I had it pointing to my wireless adapter instead
of my NIC. Works now. Thanks.

It all depends on what you need and your LAN, but given your description, It
sounds like it's set to the host NIC. If you don't need incoming
communications to the VM, NAT is the easiest to work with.

If your Networking is set up to use the host NIC as I suspect, then this is
probably caused by your DHCP admin people only giving out address by NIC ID.
You'd have to talk with them.
