Modem dropouts

Message:

I decide to do some safe surfing by using Virtual PC to connect to the
Internet without exposing my OS.

Using my laptop's modem via Standard modem driver mapping to Com2. it dials
and connects to ISP fine. However, I have noticed the connection drops out at
least 15 minutes into the session.

I would be downloading a large file and minimise the Virtual PC window.
Coming back to it shows that it has disconnected. I don't know what is
triggering the disconnect.

I don't have the disconnection problem from the laptop normally.

I tried Win XP and Win98SE. Both have the same problem. I use it with no
network Adapters set on the Virtual PC.

Any help would be appreciated. Is there a timeout parameter I'm not aware of?
