Problems in hosting Linux Server

Message:

Hi All,
I am using VPC to host and image of Ubuntu Server and Ubuntu
Desktop. Tere is no problem with the Ubuntu Desktop image, it boots up
into a graphical display and everything works fine. Unfortunately I
ave not had the same experience with the Ubuntu Server. This product
boots up to the command line. The initial booting occurs okay, but
then the Linux graphic drivers kick in and the command prompt shows a
screen with very large font and the actual command line (where I'm
expected to login) is off the bottom of the screen and I cant' scroll
it up. Only because I know that it is waiting for my login name and
password can I proceed.

Is there any way I can modify this behavious, or do I have to approach
this from a Linux angle.

Thanks
