Web connectivity from every one of my computer goes through a router to a
DSL modem. This includes the guest OS. Have you set your guest OS so that
it gets it's IP address from DHCP? If so, then you need to go to the
'Firewall -> Zones' on your HOST and make sure that the IP address of the
guest is entered as a "trusted" IP on your LAN. The same holds true if you
have given your guest a static IP address - let it through the Firewall in
the Zones tab.

Hi,
Could this be caused by the fact zonealarm free does not support networks? I
use pro here and suspect the setting your missing is the "gateway" section -
found under firewall tab/advanced button at the lower right in the pro
version.
Hopefully someone will have a solution for you soon.

The answer was to lower the security setting for the Trusted zone on the
host from high to medium when accessing the internet from the guest. Only
took a few hours to figure this out :-). Thanks for your suggestions which
got my energy level back up to work through this.
