I've tried to install the Virtual Server 2005 R2 on Windows Vista RC1 x64 but
I always get the message in the Internet Explorer (the start page) that I
don't have the right to access the Virtual Server page.
I'm administrator on the machine, I added full rights to all drives, folders
under my name, under guest's name whatevr I could find to allow full access.
I also got the message that the IIS is somewhat limited and would only offer
port 80 nothing else. I also added manually a port 1024. No change!

Any ideas?

Port 80 is all that is available under Vista, as it is also under XP.
Configurable ports are only available if you are running a Server host.

Yep, I did run the IE in administrators mode via right click. The 32 and the
64 bit version.
By the way IIS is completely installed, before and after I installed Virtual
Server . I don't know I think I've tried every installation sequence.
From my perspective, it might come down to the question whether the security
rules of the folders might be a problem. Stuff like that

Also, make sure CGI is selected under App Dev Features

Finally, make sure that Windows Authentication is selected under

I have been able to run VS2005R2 SP1 beta without issue. I haven't
run the release version on Vista.

You might want to try the beta.
