VHD Compatibility and Soldat

Hi,

I currently have a virtual machine running Windows 98. So, here's the
thing. My friend has an iBook G4 and I'm currently trying to create a
virtual hard disk file with Soldat on it so he can play the game on his
Mac. However, I have some questions. First of all, I'd like to offer
some explanation. I've updated Internet Explorer to 6.0 (it comes with
4.0) and I have installed the latest version of DirectX from
Microsoft's web site (the game requires DirectX 8.1). As most of us
know, the graphics card that Virtual PC uses is an S3 Trio 32/64 PCI.
According to DXDIAG, it uses 4.0 MB of video memory and I currently
have the OS running at a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels with 32-bit
enabled. However, when I try to start Soldat, it comes up with the
following errors:

"Error initializing 3D hardware. Your hardware does not support
DirectX 8. Be sure to install the latest video drivers. Now software
will be used..."

Any ideas as to how I would go about fixing this? Should I install the
virtual machine additions? Additionally, when my friend gets Virtual
PC on his iBook, will I be able to set the program to use the .VHD file
I already created as it is possible in the Microsoft version of Virtual
PC?

Thanks,
Matt.
