mounting vhd in knoppix 5.01

I created a new VM to run knoppix 5.01 and it runs fine from the CD iso
image, however, when i right click and try to mount the vhd i created with
the vm i get a 'I could not determine the filesystem type, and none was
specified' error. Is there something i'm missing ?

Have you formatted the virtual hard drive? If not, it will act the same way
an unformatted hard drive would - with no file system

I am assuming that you are running the OS inside the VM, not on the real
computer attempting to mount a .VHD as a hard drive
