An Success Installing Vista Build 5536?

Source: microsoft.public.virtualpc

From: John Schneider
Message:

I've been trying to install the latest Vista build 5536 (the August release)
in VPC, but it keeps locking up VPC completely.

I run the install and everything seems to go fine until the reboot where you
get the B&W screen "Please wait while Windows starts for the first
time......". A few minutes after that, not only does the screen go
completely blank, but I lose the VPC status bar and menu bar. At that point
the virtual machine and VPC are completely locked up. I can still click on
the red X to close the window, which crashes VPC (get the "send error to MS"
stuff). I restart VPC (even tried rebooting Windows), and the Vista vm
immediately starts up. I get the "Windows was not properly shut down"
thingy. Picking safe mode I get the error "Windows cannot complete
installation in Safe Mode. To continue installing Windows, restart the
computer". Click OK, the VM shuts down and restarts, goes into Windows and
gives the error "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an
unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows,
click "OK" to restart the computer, and the restart the installation."

Has anyone had any luck with this latest Vista build?

John
