Can I install XP x64 edition on my VP - If the host is xp 32 bit?

I have installed Virtual PC now I am setting up a Virtual Machine.
selected new which brings up the Virtual Machine Wizard.
Selected the option to Create a Virtual Machine
Created a name and location (basically the default)
when I get to selecting the Operating system
the list down has Windows XP as one of the choices but not Windows XP 64 bit
If I select Windows XP it selects Windows XP off the install disk and not
x64 edition
Is there a work around or what should I do?
