Games Running Slow In Dos

I've only run one game so far, system shock. The opening movie seems to
run fine until I get to the game. I'm using DOS 6.22, I've updated it,
at least I think I did it properly, with the VMU. And my computer is
running Win2K with 2.6g processor with 512 ram. Any help would be
appreciated.

SS should run fine in 2k NTVDM and VDMSound (There are a few problems
tho). Check out the TTLG forums for guides on how to run it.

System Shock does not run well @ greater than 320x200 on older
processors. You'd probably need a Core 2 Duo or equivalent processor in
performance to get acceptable performance in 640x480.

This is not the usual for games in DosBox though since almost all of my
700+ DOS games run fine on my XP 2800+ 2.2ghz.
