Spontaneous reboot on Linux VPC

Hi all,

I've been using VPC2004 sp1 for over a year now and all has gone fine.
All of a sudden, whenever I try to boot a Linux VPC my WinXP host
reboots.

OK, I thought, the VPC is stuffed so I did a new install and it also
reboots the host. Uh-oh, maybe a driver prob, so I installed a clean
WinXP sp2 to a new partition, installed VPC, started the VM and the
host rebooted again!

Next, I thought I had a RAM problem so I ran MemTest86 (which I've used
loads of times) from http://www.memtest86.com/ but it didn't show any
errors.

Any thoughts?

Turn of automatic restart so you can see what error message your getting and
then post that back here. It really sounds like some kind of hardware
problem from the description.

"Control panel" -> "System" -> "Advanced" tab, uncheck "Automatically
restart"
