Custom sized fixed sized disk

Is there any way I can get my windows 95 guest os dynamically sized disk to
convert to a 1GB fixed size disk.

When I use the disk wizard to covert from a dynamic sized to a fixed size,
it won't let me customize the final size of the disk. It just converts it
automatically to 16GB fixed sized disk (which is way to large.)

You cannot shrink a virtual hard drive any more than you can a real one.
However, you can create a smaller vhd and either install a new copy of Win95
and then copy your files over, or use an imaging program. I don't know of
any imaging programs that work with Win95, however.

If your disk imaging software doesn't work directly inside Win95, you can
use another virtual installation and attach the Win95 vhd and the target vhd
as the second and third VHD.

As far as I can remember, this worked well for me for cloning Win95 using
Ghost.

I actually had a couple win 95 guest machines and forgot that I had set the
HD to 16 GB, since I only partitioned and formatted 1GB of that.

Makes me appreciate the newer disk management of 2000/XP, and the resizing
features of Vista.

Anyway, looks like now's a good time to just delete and install a clean
system to do my testing.

Neither 2000, XP, nor Vista would allow you to resize your
16 GB dynamic VHD down to a 1 GB fixed disk. All of the
tools in those OS' operate at the volume/partition level.
They can't, for obvious reasons, resize a hard drive.
