I've installed win98se on vpc2004. I attempt to use the "connect to internet
wizard" and a screen appears telling me that I must install a modem first.
I don't have a modem at all. I use a nic and a lan via my winxp pro box.
I attempt to open internet explorer and I get the same screen asking me if i
want to connect msn as an isp and to please install a modem??? How do I
configure win98 se to use my lan.

What page are you referring to? If it's an html, internet explorer page that
I'm not able to access it. What must I do to have vpc detect my nic from
withing win98? whew.. at least the vista vm got me to the internet!

Please ignore the above request for help... the issue was not a win98 or a
vpc issue. The issue was with the defective USER who forgot my win98
skills... All I had to do was go to the control panel and properly config
"internet options" for lan..... <red faced>
