Intel Pro/100 problem

Source: microsoft.public.virtualpc

Message:

Hi!

My host machine has an Intel Pro/100 network adapter. The virtual PC is
running Vista B2. The virtual machine's adaptor 1 is also set to use the
same Intel adapter as the host.

As soon as Vista starts up and tries to access the network, all
networking from either the host or the virtual PC fails. An attempt to
ping another machine on the network from the host command line returns
"hardware error". Ipconfig on the host shows all the configuration data
is intact, but the card simply refuses to work.

This situation remains even after the virtual machine is shut down. It
is only returned to normal when the host machine is restarted.

Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I doing
something really stupid?

regards,
Alan.
