Hi,

Does anyone know how to take screenshots of installs inside Virtual PC. I am
trying to make a step-by-step instruction on installing Windows XP and I am
using Virtual PC to run an XP install. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can't you use VPC's Edit menu? Then just paste it into Paint or something.
Unfortunately, if you pause the VPC before taking the snapshot, it takes a
faded-looking snapshot. On my pc, pressing printscreen on the host (you
have to click outside of the VPC window first) takes a nice snapshot of the
whole screen, including the active VPC window(s).

However, if Virtual PC is using DirectX to hardware-accelerate drawing to
your monitor, then printscreen (on the host) will only take a blank picture.
If this is the case, start a video playing with Windows Media Player before
starting your VM. This keeps Virtual PC from using hardware acceleration,
and you should be able to use printscreen (on the host) just fine.
