we have automated tape backups on a VPC server machine, and I suspect that
any backups of the VPC drives wont work because the hard drive images are
locked.

So, I'd like to schedule that those VPCs be closed, saving their state, and
then restarted a few hours later.

I cant see any way to do this from the comand line.

menu option, etc. Not 100% reliable though.

do you know if the VPC hards disks are compatible between the VPC and
VServer, and whether they can co-exist on a PC?

soometimes I boot a VM in VPC bdecause I want to copy stuff the easy way
from my host, sometimes I want to do thing with networking with THE SAME VM,
so I use VServer.
only VMware and VPC?VServer are not compatible..

too bad for that, there is a conversion tool though.
